The Razer Abyssus Lite is a basic wired gaming mouse with a solid plastic body and a symmetrical shape. It has a completely ambidextrous design that is very similar to the Razer Abyssus V2 released in 2016. However, the shape is not identical and some minor features are missing from the Essential version, including dedicated CPI buttons and rubber side grips. In terms of performance, it has excellent latency and low minimum travel.
Overall, the Razer Abyssus Lite is easy to use. This is a truly ambidextrous mouse as it lacks side buttons. You can switch between left-handed and right-handed modes with the customization software that changes the position of the left and right-click buttons. Unfortunately, the edges of the left and right click buttons are sharp, which can make your thumb and ring finger uncomfortable depending on where you place them.
The Razer Abyssus Lite offers polling rate options for 125Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz. You can adjust up to 5 CPI settings per custom profile and adjust the stroke distance from the default 2.4mm setting using the customization software. The scroll wheel is precise and has well-defined steps. It is also silent and has a non-slip rubber surface. However, scroll actions and scroll clicks are noticeably stiffer than similar gaming mice.
