The Razer BlackWidow Elite is a gaming keyboard designed for peak performance with Razer mechanical switches for faster actuation and a lifetime of 80 million keystrokes. Digital multi-wheel provides media control, and USB 2.0 and audio pass-through ensure easy cable management. This pure cable model is very stable and sturdy and has good ergonomics thanks to two tilt settings and a detachable armrest. The full RGB backlighting is great for gaming in dark rooms and is easily adjustable in the Razer Synapse 3 software.
The Razer BlackWidow Elite has excellent build quality. The front of the keyboard is made of metal while the back and sides are made of plastic. The overall design feels solid and doesn’t have too much flex. The ABS keycaps don’t feel too cheap, although they don’t offer the same finish as the Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition double-shot PBT keycaps.
The Razer BlackWidow Elite delivers excellent keypress quality. Key spacing is good, which reduces typos, but the small pre-trip spacing can lead to more accidental keystrokes if you’re not used to it. ABS keycaps don’t feel too cheap and are easy to type. Most of the keys are very stable and the keyboard uses Costar stabilizers, although the space bar wobbled a bit on our device. Razer Orange switches offer great feedback, but if you prefer a different feel, they’re also available with Razer Yellow or Razer Green linear switches.
